Karen Potosnak-Clark was raised in Pennsylvania, and now resides outside London. Ms. Potosnak-Clark was awarded a Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from Syracuse University College of Law in 1991. She was selected for the Moot Court Board at the College of Law based on her advocacy skills. Ms. Potosnak-Clark graduated from Muhlenberg College in 1988, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with highest honors, in Political Science and Russian Studies. She has studied both Russian and Spanish. She was admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania in 1991. Ms. Potosnak-Clark was admitted to the rolls of Solicitors of England and Wales in 2007.
Ms. Potosnak-Clark has been practicing immigration law since 1991. She served as a judicial law clerk to the Immigration Court, San Antonio, Texas in 1991. She then joined the U.S. Government, Immigration and Naturalization Service, in 1992. For over ten years she litigated immigration cases. She is experienced in waivers, criminal issues, removal and detention hearings.
Ms. Potosnak-Clark joined the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in 2003, the Agency responsible for the adjudication of immigration benefits. She was Counsel to the Texas Service Center for several years where she provided advice to immigration adjudicators on business and employment related immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, as well as family based immigration.
Ms. Potosnak-Clark has also practiced in the area of employment law in both the U.S. and the U.K. She has handled cases involving discrimination and unfair dismissal.
Ms. Potosnak-Clark is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Law Society of England and Wales.
